Golf Tips To Improve Your Game

Here are some great tips to help improve your game from tee-off to the final hole.
Years ago driver club heads, and clubfaces, were much smaller, resulting in a much smaller sweet-spot. The driver heads simply were not large enough to warrant a higher tee height. General rule of thumb says to tee the ball up so that the top half of the ball is above the clubface when the club is resting in starting position on the ground. Naturally with a bigger club head, you need to tee the ball higher to achieve the top half ratio. This will ensure you are still striking the ball with the center of the club head.
Once you hit a shot you must stop and read what you just did and you must read it correctly. You must be in a balanced finish to read it properly, so you can check your alignment in case the shot is off line. As you stand in a perfectly balanced finish and watch your ball, ask yourself: how does my balance feel, how was the brush, how was the path, was the clubface in the correct position, and did I hit it in the center of the clubface? Then, either focus more on what is missing, or play it and go fix it after the round. You will only be able to accomplish 8 to 10 perfect shots per round, so be mentally prepared!
Everyone always learns the rule to play your drive off the inside of your front foot's heel. While this is good general advice, it is really just positioning the ball so that it is hit on the upswing, rather than downswing like an iron. The reason is that woods have a very low angle to the clubface (as opposed to irons), and need a "lift" at impact to create the optimal trajectory. I would have someone watch your swing while facing you and try to pinpoint where your swing bottoms out. Position the ball just after that point.

Use them whenever you meet the specific situation on the faiway, the bunker or on the putting green and see your success happen.

If you are not shifting your weight properly on the downswing, from the back leg to the front leg, your swing will bottom out before the club gets to the ball. Also, if you do not keep your head steady, you do not know where your swing will bottom out. Also, if you do not keep your leading arm reasonably straight, the arc of your swing will vary, so you can improve your consistency by focusing on these 3 areas.

It varies in temperature, pressure, humidity and density. If there were no air whatsoever, the golf ball would not travel far. Likewise, if a ball is hit in air with no spin, it will not travel far.
